Man in 20s killed in car crash in Leamington

A man in his 20s has passed away following a fatal collision on Kenilworth Road.

According to Coventry Live, the crash took place at 2.45 am on Wednesday morning. A young man was hit by a white Peugeot taxi. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident took place near Warwickshire Rugby Club. The road remained closed until 8am on Wednesday morning.

According to Warwickshire Police: "At around 2.45am, a collision took place between a white Peugeot taxi and a pedestrian on Kenilworth Road, near to Leamington Rugby Club.

"The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Road closures were in place whilst emergency services were in attendance."

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information to contact Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 42 of April 24.
