Joey Essex ‘targeted by stalker’ who ‘threatened to shoot’ Love Island girlfriend Jessy

Love Island and reality TV star Joey Essex is talking to police after allegedly being targeted by a stalker who it’s claimed has made threats against his partner from the villa, Jessy Potts.

Joey and Jessy met on Love Island earlier this summer, and narrowly missed the final together. Since the show they have been going on dates, and have kept their relationship going in the real world.

Now, it’s been reported Joey Essex has been targeted by a stalker who has “sent him 100k messages” and threatened to shoot Jessy. Joey has said the stalker has been messaging him on social media, and said they would “shoot the shit” out of Jessy, branding her a “fat slag” and a “bitch” .

According to The Sun, Joey and his team are due to talk to police today, to launch a formal probe after the messages have recently become more menacing.

He told the publication: “We have had to take the decision to report the stalker to the police because the messages have started to become more threatening. I love my fans and want to be able to talk to them online but there has to be a line somewhere and sadly this is it.”

It’s also been said the woman, who has not been named, has been leaving loads of comments under Joey’s posts, including a rant in which she said “just call me annoying again that’s what you get you’re insecure in yourself.”

A source close to Joey said: “Joey loves his fans and being able to engage with them online so is used to receiving messages. Of course they’re not always nice and he does get trolled, but after being in the public eye for so many years he’s got used to dealing with that side of it.

“But when he was in the Love Island villa his team noticed a real uptick in messages from one user in particular and most of it is nonsense. Since he met Jessy, though, they have grown increasingly frightening with some targeted, physical threats and it’s become cause for concern.”
