Sam blames his ‘villain’ portrayal on Love Is Blind UK on the show’s editing
‘The editing hasn’t really worked in my favour’
Love Is Blind UK shook Netflix when it dropped last week and introduced us to a very controversial contestant on the show, hopeful Sam Klein. He went viral online after his awkward meeting with his fiancée Nicole Stevens, where he said “I think I love you” which gave viewers a serious ick. After the show’s release, Sam seemed to point out how the editing made him appear as a villainous person.
Sam took to Instagram last night to answer some questions people had about the show, including a pretty personal one about his and Nicole’s connection. A fan asked him if his love for her was really sincere, and he responded with: “The show was intense and high-pressure, and the editing hasn’t really worked in my favour. But my connection with Nicole in the pods was genuine, and she’s an amazing person.” I guess only Sam and Nicole know the truth about what happened behind the scenes of the show.
He went on to describe his “villain” persona when a fan commented: “I want to dislike you, and yet I like you plenty. This was supposed to be a question, huh?” It seems his controversial appearance was popular with some viewers.
He responded in a joking manner with: “I guess someone has to play the villain.” He seems to be embracing his new villain status that viewers have given him.

Sam, 31, was engaged to contestant Nicole Stevens, but after meeting in person, Nicole seemed to change her mind about their connection, and the two did not join the other couples in Greece at the end episode four. There was serious tension after love rival Benaiah warned Nicole about his suspicions of Sam’s false intentions for coming on the show.
This may not be the last we hear of Sam however, as his Instagram story seemed to hint at a love connection later in the season.
Looks like Sam will be once again the centre of our screens during the show’s second half of season one.
