Who are Daisy Edgar Jones’ parents and is she actually a nepo baby in disguise?

Um, her dad is the creator of Big Brother!?

Daisy Edgar Jones is everywhere right now. Between promo for Twisters and slaying with Paul Mescal at Glastonbury, she really is the it girl of the summer. She rose to fame after starring in Normal People alongside Paul Mescal and then grew even more after starring as the lead role in Where the Crawdads Sing. She’s now starring opposite Glen Powell in the action thriller Twisters. But, as with a whole load of young celebs these days, is she actually a nepo baby in disguise?

Who are Daisy Edgar Jones’ parents and is she actually a secret nepo baby?

Well, although her parents aren’t actually actors themselves, her dad is huge in the film and TV industry. Phil Edgar-Jones is head of entertainment at Sky TV and also the co-creator of Big Brother. Madness! Her mum is a former film editor who now is believed to work in real estate.

Philip was also the Creative Director and Executive Producer of Big Brother on Channel 4, as well as working as a producer on the Jack Docherty Show, The Priory, Big Breakfast, and The Word.

In an interview, Daisy revealed she is extremely close to her parents and lived with them until she was 24. “They’re probably sick of me now. I think they loved it for a bit and now they’re like, ‘Get out’,” she joked to the Sydney Morning Herald in 2022.

She also shared how her family encouraged her to take up acting. “The biggest impact they had was encouraging me to audition for the National Youth Theatre at age 14. That’s how I first auditioned in an open casting and how I got my agent,” she said.

“I was really lucky, growing up in a household that loves the arts. We would go to the theatre a lot as a family, and watch films and TV.”

“Both of my parents had an idea of what it felt like to be self-employed, which is a big part of being an actor,” she explained. “You don’t always know when the next job is coming. And I guess, therefore, they were less fearful of me pursuing something that was without security.”

Daisy also described her parents as “two of [her] closest friends” to The Guardian.
