John blamed age gap, but Age of Attraction’s Theresa exposes a different reason for split
'That was certainly a challenge for us'
Everyone was left pretty shocked after Age of Attraction’s Theresa and John confirmed their breakup just six months after the experiment, and although he had already shared his version of the reason behind it, Theresa has now offered a different explanation for their split. So, here’s what actually happened.
John has been very open about how he sees things, and for him, the age gap was a major factor. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said, “We are not together, and age was the factor.”
He added that things changed once they started dating properly after filming. He explained, “She just felt weird vibes when we were going out. We [dated] for, like, six months after the show, and she just couldn’t take the … I figure, you know, you make a big deal out of [the age gap], it’s a big deal. I felt the whole time that age wasn’t a big deal unless she made it a big deal. It got to us.”
He also told DC Film Girl, “Unfortunately, once we got into the real world, it [age] became an issue and it broke us up.”
On top of that, he claimed on Viall Files that he “doesn’t deserve someone who texts him saying they feel disgusting when they’re with you.”
Now, Theresa has spoken out and her reason is quite different

Theresa pointed more towards distance and communication issues rather than just age. She said, “Long distance is really, really hard on a relationship, regardless of age or anything.”
She added, “So that was certainly a challenge for us. We had some communication issues. There were some things that came up — some miscommunications.”
Theresa also shared, “John and I are in a really, really good place right now. We did go a period of time where we didn’t talk. But around the holidays, we started to talk again and we’re in a really great place, both very supportive of each other. Who knows what could happen.”
