Khloé Kardashian heartbreakingly reveals she never actually wanted to divorce Lamar Odom
This is unbelievably sad
For anyone who has followed Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s love story from whirlwind wedding to devastating fallout, this latest revelation hits especially hard.
In Netflix’s Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, Khloé opens up about the moment their marriage truly fractured, and it’s heartbreaking.
What makes it even sadder is that, according to Khloé, divorce was never actually what she wanted.
Khloé revealed an intervention was held

One of the documentary’s most emotional moments comes when Khloé explains just how serious Lamar’s addiction had become behind closed doors.
She said on the show: “He overdosed a few times. I had to pump his stomach, we did everything we could…”
Then, the Kardashians star details how she never actually wanted to divorce her ex-husband.
“I was advised to do this intervention. And, the interventionist said ‘you’re gonna go in there and you’re gonna tell him you need to go to rehab, and if you don’t stay for a three-month programme, you’re going to say you’re getting a divorce’, everyone around me was like ‘he’ll never say he wants the divorce’,” Khloé explained.
She continued: “We do the intervention, I give my speech, and he’s like ‘Ok, all I want is my passport and yeah, let’s get the f***ing divorce’.”
“I was like looking around, like wait, wait, I don’t want the divorce, you guys told me I have to say this. Lamar left immediately and was like We’re getting the f***ing divorce, and I’m never coming back here again’.”
The documentary then cut to Lamar who said: “I signed the divorce papers, and so right when I signed the divorce papers, I’m like I’m gonna get it in, the Bunny Ranch, I always used to see on TV, but I don’t have any coke to take. It’s crazy when you think about one decision so big or so minor, could be so pivotal to you and to people that you really love.”
Rather than seeing the threat of divorce as a wake-up call, Lamar agreed, leaving Khloé stunned because, as she explains in the documentary, she did not truly want the marriage to end.
Khloé first filed for divorce in 2013, paused proceedings after Lamar’s 2015 overdose to help with his recovery, and eventually finalised the divorce in 2016 after further setbacks.
Lamar signed the divorce papers

Lamar also addresses the divorce in the documentary, reflecting on how signing the papers became a turning point in his downward spiral.
He connects that moment directly to the reckless decisions that followed, including going to the Nevada brothel where he later overdosed in October 2015.
Lamar frames the divorce papers as one of those life-altering choices that changed everything for him and for the people who loved him.
It’s a brutally sad admission because it shows how differently the two of them were experiencing the same moment.
For Khloé, the threat of divorce was a last-ditch attempt to save him. And, for Lamar, signing the papers became part of the collapse.
