Alex Hall reveals the truth behind her relationship with Ian, claiming he was like ‘poison’
She described their relationship as a 'trauma bond'
Alex Hall has finally broken her silence about the truth behind her relationship with Ian Young, after the two dated and then split up following Selling The OC.
She claimed that the two were in a “trauma bond” throughout their relationship and that he was like “poison” to her.
Speaking on her podcast, Pretty Dirty with Alex Hall, she revealed: “Met Ian, that was crazy, this was years ago like in 2021. The love bombing, all of the things, we dated for three months, he broke my heart.”
She later explained more about their relationship, saying: “Then at the beginning of this year I started dating Ian again.
“And at that point since it had been round three, or whatever it was, I remember telling myself, ‘listen you keep coming back this guy so he must be the one because you’ve never done anything else like this before.'”
She carried on: “Looking back I get that, I’m like ‘duh that’s a red flag.’ I was absolutely crazy about him, I loved that guy. And I think what it was for me with him is I just loved him and who he was, it wasn’t even about what he gave me.”
Alex Hall then claimed that Ian was “poison” and she only realised it after they bought the house together on Selling The OC.
She alleged: “In the beginning, before the toxic abuse cycle started, he was so much fun. The chemistry was undeniable and I adored him.
“And then I realised, ‘oh this is bad, this is a trauma bond.’ My nervous system is so disrupted by you and that that point the only thing that’s helping me from the poisoning is the poison and I had to keep drinking from the well of poison.
“And he was was the poison. And I didn’t realise this until after we bought a house.”
She then explained that she wasn’t “emotionally ready” to discuss the rest in the current podcast episode, and would instead save it for the following episode, which will release next week.
