Selling Sunset Chelsea’s ex lifts the lid on whether they ‘hate each other’ nowadays
Their messy romance played out in season eight
If you binged Selling Sunset season eight with your jaw on the floor, you’re not alone.
Chelsea Lazkani’s marriage drama went from “hmm, vibes are off” to full-on lobby-kiss chaos faster than an Oppenheim open house.
But now, the story is shifting again, because Jeff Lazkani has finally popped up to address the rumours, the timeline, and, most importantly, where he and Chelsea actually stand today.
So… are they enemies? Is it awkward co-parenting? Or are they quietly doing the mature, grown-up thing behind the scenes?
Chelsea, Jeff and that lobby kiss drama

Season eight didn’t just mention the cheating allegations, it made them feel like the headline of Chelsea’s entire life.
The on-show storyline centred on claims that Jeff had been seen “making out” with another woman in a hotel, with the information coming to Chelsea via castmate Bre Tiesi.
Off-camera, though, the real-life timeline matters.
Chelsea filed for divorce from Jeff in March 2024, citing irreconcilable differences, and reports at the time also noted she was seeking joint custody, per People.
Later updates in the divorce coverage suggested Chelsea was declared legally single amid proceedings, per E! Online.
So yes, things were moving in a very real, legal way while people were still debating what ‘really’ happened…
Jeff breaks his silence on whether they ‘hate’ each other now

Fast-forward to December 2025, and Jeff shared an Instagram statement that directly addresses the biggest question for a lot of people who love the show: Do he and Chelsea hate each other?
His answer is a straight-up no.
In the posts, he says their marriage ended “long before” the alleged lobby-kiss storyline became reality TV fuel, and he pushes back on the idea that the show’s version of events equals the full truth.
He also says they’re connected for life because they share two children, and frames their current dynamic as focused on healthy co-parenting.
Jeff also claims they’re in a “good place,” share 50/50 custody, and live close to each other, positioning them less as exes at war, more like two people doing the logistics of raising kids post-split.
He even addresses chatter from the reunion and social media about whether he supports his children financially, saying he does.
And, in the most “life goes on” update of all, Jeff says he’s dating someone new, while still stressing that hateful comments won’t change the reality that both he and Chelsea are moving forward.
So where does that leave Chelsea and Jeff now? If we’re going purely by what’s been reported and what Jeff himself has said…
They’re not besties, not bitter enemies, just co-parents trying to keep things steady for their kids, while the internet does… what the internet does best.
