Sarover reveals the real reason she and Kal haven’t divorced yet after Love Is Blind UK
She's been forced to block him on socials because it's so 'toxic'
Kal and Sarover announced that their relationship had come to an end during the Love Is Blind UK reunion episode.
However, despite their marriage taking place last year and their relationship falling apart before the New Year, the pair still haven’t got divorced.
Sarover recently appeared on AD’s podcast, What’s The Reality, to discuss more about what happened after they decided to split and why they’re still legally married.
She revealed: “So because we got married in Scotland, we did not know you have to wait a year to get divorced.”
In England, the divorce process can be started even if you’ve been married less than a year of both parties agree to a divorce.
In Scotland however, it’s required that you have to wait a minimum of one year to proceed with divorce proceedings, even if both parties agree before then.
Sarover explained that she and Kal were not eligible for an annulment either, despite getting legally married on Love Is Blind UK.
Sarover also told AD that she wants to try and help destigmatise some of the views towards getting a divorce, saying: ” Divorce is okay. It’s sometimes part of certain journeys.
“Sometimes we feel as women, it taints us a bit, but I want to show that there’s life after that. It does not take away from you. It does not make you any less of a person going into future relationships. So I stand by that and this is why I will be going through with it.”
Sarover explained that she’s asked Kal if she can be the one to legally file for divorce as she’ll be able to have “some sort of control again.”
She revealed the two got legally married on October 1st 2024, so they can start the proceedings in less than two weeks.
As for where the two stand now, Sarover admitted she’s had to block him, saying: “I’ve actually had to block him on socials now because it’s toxic and that chapter’s closed.
“I I have to accept that too. So for both of us to accept that, let’s each other live our own lives now and be respectful of that.”
