Love Island UK needs to take note of Love Island USA’s WILD twists, and here’s why
This level of chaos is needed across the pond
If you’ve ever slept on Love Island USA, we can guarantee season seven is here to wake you up. This year’s twists and turns are grabbing people’s attention. Not only are almost all the contestants giving main character energy, but the challenges are popping off, and the host, well, she’s iconic. We reckon the UK needs to take notes and make some changes, like now.
Season seven is no snoozefest

Love Island UK has been running a little longer than its US version, and it’s kinda showing?
As Love Island USA airs this summer, Peacock is seriously turning up the spice.
Season seven is in no way a snoozefest – it’s getting super steamy.
The first week in the villa, Islanders kicked things off with a kissing challenge.
The premiere also came with a surprise as two bombshells arrived, and one, Cierra Ortega, spent the night with Nic Vansteenberghe in the hideaway right off the bat.
Plus, the show featured a brand-new twist this year. The ladies were allowed to kiss two guys before the first coupling up.
The UK show could take some notes on starting as they mean to go on. People have literally been hooked since the US show’s dramatic premiere.
Shock exits
Week one’s drama didn’t stop there.
The US show also saw a contestant suddenly removed from the villa.
After controversial clips surfaced online, Yulissa Escobar was booted off the show.
Major bombshells
It’s safe to say Love Island USA season seven has been coming in hot with the new arrivals.
Since day two, newbies have been arriving in the villa.
And, they’ve been doing their jobs as bombshells – unafraid to shake things up and switch up the couples’ dynamics.
24-hour dump threat
The pressure is seriously being applied this season as the contestants faced a 24-hour dump threat.
Anyone who didn’t recouple would be packing their bags and leaving the villa.
Nic and Olandria Carthen were left vulnerable in one episode, but, of course, the producers had another twist up their sleeve for Nicolandria.
Huge Casa Amor twist
Casa Amor is a famous Love Island twist in itself.
But, in 2025, host Ariana Madix explained how a whole new level of drama has been added.
She said in episode 19: “This year, we’re doing Casa Amor very differently. You all are officially single Islanders again.”
Ariana explained that everyone was essentially single for Casa Amor, the boys and the girls, and that everyone would later be returning to the villa.
A fake dumping?!
The episode 19 Love Island USA scenes were described by some people as “cinematic.”
We were all left on a cliffhanger after it seemed Nic and Olandria were dumped.
Nic left the villa, but in the final moments, Olandria appeared in a car to pick him up.
Neither seems truly gone, setting up a big question mark over what’s coming next episode – and everyone’s loving the tension!
It’s not the first time the US show has held a fake dumping, if that is what we’re seeing.
In season five, Carsten ‘Bergie’ Bergersen was the first Islander to go home. But he was brought back onto the show. In the end, Bergie finished season five in third place, and he’s still with his partner, Taylor Smith, now.
