It appears Larsa Pippen, ex-wife of NBA star Scottie, isn’t afraid to get tongues wagging after she claims she’s in love with Marcus Jordan, son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, Scottie’s former teammate.
In September 2022, photos published by TMZ appeared to show Larsa and Marcus dining at the Japanese restaurant Zuma in Miami. Fast-forward to February 2023 and the two are in a full-blown relationship.
Larsa went on a ‘date’ with Marcus in 2022
Marcus Jordan was spotted on Sunday, September 4, at a Japanese restaurant on an apparent ‘date’ with Larsa Pippen. She is the ex-wife of MJ’s estranged former teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen.
There is a pretty big age gap between the pair – Marcus is 32 while Larsa is 48. Marcus’ dad, Michael, has had beef with Larsa’s ex-husband Scottie for years, but their date sparked controversy.
MJ and Pippen’s drama
Despite the men being teammates – Pippen is the only person to play alongside MJ for all six of his NBA championships – the pair weren’t as close on the outside as fans may have thought.
Jordan’s Last Dance documentary rubbed Pippen up the wrong way. He was upset by the way he was portrayed and told GQ Jordan “couldn’t have been more condescending if he tried.”
Pippen infamously refused to go into a playoff game against the New York Knicks in 1994 after head coach Phil Jackson asked him to be the inbounder on a play designed to go to Toni Kukoc.
Pippen refused and sat on the bench in protest meaning Kukoc got the game-winning shot. In the Last Dance, Jordan claimed Pippen’s decision to sit out the final play would “always come back to haunt him.”
However, Pippen claimed Jordan later apologized for making the comment in the documentary.
Larsa claims she’s ‘in love’ with Marcus
Larsa has now revealed in a Tamron Hall interview that she’s “in love” with Marcus and has met his father Michael, and has his parents’ blessing. She’s also claimed on Instagram that he’s her “forever Valentine.”
She said they are in a really good place and had previously just been friends since they met at a party four years ago. Larsen added that they are in the same social circle and have a lot of common ground, having grown up in Chicago.
Speaking on how age doesn’t play a factor in maturity, Larsa told Tamron that she has dated people older than her before, such as Scottie who is a decade older than her. She also said she “didn’t plan” to fall in love with Marcus.
