The mum of Angus Cloud has shared her reaction to the Euphoria finale after that touching tribute to the late actor. Fezcoo was a fan favourite throughout seasons one and two of Euphoria. Played by first-time actor Angus Cloud, Fez was Rue’s charming drug dealer and Lexi’s possible love interest for season three. Show creator Sam Levinson had previously shared that season three of Euphoria was set to feature Fez heavily, but Angus Cloud’s untimely passing steered him in a different direction. the scene with rue and fez was actually filmed in 2019, and zendaya posted it on her ig😭😭im cryingggggggg #euphoria pic.twitter.com/pOBU9XeX50 — sofia🦈 (@__sofia68) June 1, 2026 Angus was only 25 when he died of a drug overdose in 2023. In the Euphoria finale, during Rue’s fentanyl induced hallucination, she imagined herself reuniting with her best friend after he broke out of jail. Angus’ mother told TMZ she wasn’t aware he would be featured in the final episode of the series, but that she had a “feeling”. “The massive public emotional outpouring on social media honouring my beloved son’s beautiful soul says everything,” she said. In an interview with Popcast by the New York Times, Sam Levinson spoke about why he decided to include a drug overdose in the finale – majorly inspired by Angus’ tragic death. “There was [originally] a different trajectory for the character of Rue. And [during] the writers’ strike [in 2023], we got the news that Angus passed away,” the creator said. In the end, Rue died dreaming she was finally going home. She imagined Fezco had escaped and that she had to find him. As she slipped away, she relived her life every memory, even one last hug from her father. 🎬 EUPHORIA S3E8: 'In God We Trust' pic.twitter.com/Gu3WUzw0vU — The Cinéprism (@TheCineprism) June 1, 2026 “I’d always been really concerned about the prevalence of fentanyl, and it’s something that we’ve dealt with over the seasons, and even in my first film. But once he passed away, I had to reconceive the script, and I thought, you can’t tell a story about addiction today without the very real consequences. Most people don’t get a second chance.” He wanted to bring attention to the fentanyl crisis in the US, adding: “Fentanyl can just take you out in an instant. It wasn’t like when I was growing up; you could literally take pills off the street, and you might have a bad trip or something, but you’d be fine. This is something that hits close to home for many people in this country. So it felt like the responsible thing to do.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
