At the end of season one of Off Campus, Dean is finally ready to give a relationship with Allie a real shot. Unfortunately, she chose that moment to throw a major spanner in the works. In the finale, Dean is in the middle of confessing his feelings when Allie admits that she may or may not have (she definitely did) slept with his nemesis, Hunter Davenport. Exactly why Dean hates Hunter is still up in the air, but there are some pretty convincing theories. Obviously, this halts the progression of Allie and Dean’s fledgling relationship. So, what’s next? Major spoilers from here. Dean and Allie in Off Campus season two, according to the stars Credit: Amazon Studios In the book series, Dean and Allie’s story is number three, so chronologically, it kinda makes sense to put them on the back burner for season two. Annoying, but sensible. Dean’s actor, the magnetic Stephen Kalyn, told Swooon that Allie’s indiscretion “absolutely” changes things for Dean. “I think he experiences jealousy for the first time, and that’s something new to him, and there’s some conflict between him and Hunter,” he explained. “And yeah, Allie screwed it all up.” Credit: Amazon Studios Ella Bright, who plays Hannah, rightly dubbed his cutting explanation “harsh”, but Stephen doubled down by branding it “not good.” “I think in that moment he’s going to shut down and ignore everything that he just felt and push it to the side and move on because he’s butt-hurt,” he added. Allie’s actress, Mika Abdalla, earlier told the same publication that the finale serves to “slow down” their relationship, which is what I was saying earlier. If Amazon is going to slow-ball it, with their actual story happening in season three, they need to rein it in a little. What better way to do that than a man feeling butthurt? “It kind of slows them down a little bit and introduces a little more drama,” she had said.
