Love Island 2025 viewers are furious after Harry’s reaction to Sophie talking about her traumatic fire accident.

During the first coupling of the season last night, Harry Cooksley and Sophie Lee were paired together. After which, Harry and Sophie decided have a one on one chat to get to know each other.

During this conversation Sophie revealed that she had been in a fire accident at the age of 22 which caused burn scars over her face and chest.

She said: “It made the woman that I am. It made me learn so much about life and interactions with people and how to be better.”

However, Harry reacted to this during an interview saying it was “a bit much for me”.

This comment made by the 30-year-old quickly gained backlash from the viewers.

One viewer took to X to express their disbelief saying: “Men don’t like sophisticated and confident women who know their worth and what they want e.g Harry saying she’s a bit much just say you’re thick.”

Another Love Island 2025 viewer commented: “Harry saying Sophie is maybe a bit much for him. Yeah, we could tell by your one word responses the whole time. Can’t handle a smart woman.”

A viewer also added: “Nope, Harry is not for my girl Sophie.”

Viewers also showed some concerns in the comment section about Sophie opening up so much on the first day. A user wrote on X: “Sophie is being too vulnerable with the wrong guy don’t think Harry is into her.”

Another user commented: “Bro, Harry could not gaf [give a fuck] about her trauma dump.” There were many other similar comments shared online in fan communities.

The overall reactions of the viewers implied their disagreement with Harry’s reaction as well as the pairing of these two, leaving fans to believe that there is a lack of emotional capacity. A viewer wrote “I’ve been having it off ever since I’m sorry what?! But you are a hopeless romantic?! Harry is not serious.”
