The time is here: Voting has opened for the first round of Sheffield’s BNOC candidates

The moment you’ve all been waiting for

Here we have the first round of candidates for Sheffield BNOC.

You probably know their faces, and you probably know their names, but read on to learn a little bit about why these five nominees think they should win the title.

Fill in the form at the bottom of this article before Sunday 11th May at 23:59 to cast your vote.

Remy Maclanchlan: Second year, robotics and mechatronics

When he’s not taking over the small room at Pop Tarts, he’s tackling the elegant balance between Engineers Rugby and Wine Society. For knowing everyone on Uni Of’s campus, second year robotics student Remy is a true BNOC.

Adam Abbott: First year, English language and linguistics

A J20 addict, Adam says a vote for him is a vote for the common man. As the “CEO of silly” he promises to carry the BNOC title with pride, and host a massive afters with lots of J20’s and Lucozade to celebrate.

Ski Mikey: Fourth year, robotics engineering

Only known by his stage name, Ski Mikey has consumed more VKs than Greggs bakes sausage rolls.

He doesn’t go out of his way to be a BNOC, but will make friends with anyone including the ROAR bartenders (if a free drink is up for grabs).

Lola Mae Till: Second year, digital media and society

Lola is SUWRFC to the core, always up for a West Street Live into a massive ROAR.

Witty, chatty and Scouse (a banging combo, if we say so ourselves), she has the makings of a promising BNOC – but don’t mention her A Level TikTok account.

Ollie Ledger: First year, journalism

Famously throwing a party in Millstone that had to be shut down, Ollie (pictured in the middle) has the true qualities of a BNOC. Funny, personable and at times jarring, he presents a strong case amongst the contestants.

Voting for the first round of BNOC contestants is open until Sunday 11th May at 23:59. You can vote via the Google Form below.

The top two contenders will go through to our semi finals again Round 2’s top candidates.
