Here are five York restaurants that have us feeling the love this Valentine’s Day

Because the key to everyone’s heart is through food right?

Despite January feeling as though it lasted FOREVER, Valentine’s Day has quickly snuck up on us. Lucky for you, though, you’re in York! A city filled with beautiful restaurants and incredible food. Still looking for somewhere to take that special someone this Valentine’s?

Whether it’s a romantic Valentine’s Day with your boo or a fun Galentine’s Day with your besties, we’ve got you covered with our top five restaurants to visit this February 14th!

Cresci Pizzeria

Located right in the centre of town on Piccadilly, Cresci Pizzeria offers authentic Neapolitan pizza. It really is a beautiful restaurant with two floors and a small handful of outside seats. A real selling point of Cresci is their ‘Frittatina Di Pasta Napoletana’. This is pasta served inside of a deep fried batter ball. Definitely not the healthiest, but would St Valentine really want you counting the calories on his special day? We don’t think so!

Plus, just for Valentine’s Day, Cresci has introduced the ‘Be My Burrata’ pizza. This pizza is topped with burrata, Parma ham, cherry tomatoes, rocket, mozzarella and more. We 100% recommend taking that special someone here for some truly special food!

Rustique

Another beautiful city centre restaurant is Rustique. This restaurant is on Castlegate and serves delicious French cuisine. The French onion soup was definitely a stand out on our visit, so we can’t help but recommend. They also have a lovely set menu, with two courses for just £22.95. This restaurant also has such an aesthetic interior, so a perfect place to get those Valentine’s Instagram pics. Get yourself to Rustique for a romantic evening, or an aesthetic meal out with your besties!

Tomahawk Steakhouse

Just off of St Helen’s Square is Tomahawk Steakhouse.  Their signature steaks will have you coming back for more, no matter the occasion. They also have some incredible sharing boards for you and your Valentine’s date to split as well as some great speciality cocktails to celebrate in style! They also have a low-lit, beautiful inside of the restaurant over two floors, with a lot of the decor being cow themed. From cow-print chair covers to a huge cow statue outside, this place is obsessed with steak. And we’re obsessed with them!

Lucia

Remember the huge Parmesan wheel at the York Christmas Markets? Are you like us and still dreaming of that creamy pasta? Dream no more, as we present to you – Lucia! Lucia on Swinegate is tucked away down a side street, meaning you’re away from the noise and chaos of the city centre, whilst still being close to all your favourite pubs and bars. That famous pasta is available with so many more variations as well as sourdough pizzas and many other delicious dishes. They also have a 90 minute bottomless brunch EVERY DAY! This means that you can have a Galentine’s celebration at this beautiful restaurant and, yes, there’s pasta on there too!

Spark

A slightly different entry in our top five (but still just as incredible) is Spark! Spark is filled with different street food restaurants and bars. If you and your Valentine’s date have completely different food preferences, you don’t have to worry! From authentic Greek Souvlaki at SASA to delicious chicken tenders at Clucking Oinks, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Spark this Valentine’s Day. Spark beautifully decorated, with new hand-painted artwork by the entrance. There are also heat lamps scattered around the venue, giving you a welcome break from the cold February weather. They also have a 20% student discount at certain restaurants, so keep an eye out for that.

We definitely recommend taking that special someone to one of these special places. We guarantee you’ll get a text back on February 15th!
