Vanessa reveals heartbreaking reason she unexpectedly quit The Ultimatum with Dave
‘You’re only seeing one per cent of what happens’
Season three of The Ultimatum was released on Netflix just yesterday but there’s already been plenty of drama, with two couples unexpectedly quitting the show in the night. We didn’t get any answers on the show about why exactly the four of them had decided to just take off into the night but now one of the women in the couples, Vanessa, has spoken out about why she decided to quit The Ultimatum.
Okay, but just in case you need a refresher on the premise of the show it revolves around six couples who are divided between marriage or just splitting up, with one wanting to get engaged and the other being unsure. And obviously, there’s nothing to stabilise a relationship like appearing on a Netflix reality TV show.
The couples then “split” on the show and go into “trial marriages” with another member from a different couple and are then left to decide whether they want to commit to who they came in with, move on with their new partner or just leave the show single.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, just four episodes in two couples decided they wanted out of the show and literally left in the middle of the night.
Netflix stated in the episode: “Earlier in the day, Dave, Vanessa, Micah and Chanel secretly met off camera. That evening, surveillance cameras captured them packing. Dave, Vanessa, Micah and Chanel quickly departed, abruptly ending their experience.”

However, Vanessa has opened up about why she decided to leave The Ultimatum, explaining on her Instagram: “I know I just had to do what was best for my mental health. You’re only seeing one per cent.”
A viewer of the show commented she should apologise to her trial partner on the show, Nick, for leaving the show early but Vanessa clapped back, commenting: “You don’t know what happened behind scenes. I have nothing to apologise for.”
She replied to another comment: “Some stuff happened that y’all don’t get to see and I had to choose myself above everything.”
However, it seems we’ll have to wait until the reunion episode to learn exactly what went down between Nick and Vanessa, as she explained: “I will likely talk more about it at some point soon but there is only so much I can say. I’ll add more context after the reunion.”
It really can’t come soon enough!
