Here are the five best spots in Lincoln to study with a cuppa
Here are some of our favourite places to study when you are desperate for a change of scenery
We know finding the right place to study can be hard and the four walls of your room can make you crazy after a while, so discovering a spot that works for you can be life changing.
So with that in mind, here are some top places to study, with the company of you favourite beverage which could boost your productivity.
1. The library
Don’t take the library for granted. I know it’s an obvious contender but it’s free, you can grab a coffee downstairs or bring your own – it’s all about saving that loan for the weekly kebab runs.
Seriously though, this is the best place to be and you are surrounded by everything you need.
The silent study area on the top floor is perfect for when that deadline is chasing you – no distractions, no excuses!
2. Students’ Union
Both the Swan and Towers are great places to study, especially if you’ve got some time between lectures. No need for a long walk – you can save your legs for the walk up the ATB stairs.
They offer free alternative milks, so you can spare your pennies and the toilets, and the service is speedy. Grab a booth and grab your friends (preferably ones who also have assignments due) and get that essay done.
3. Coffee Depot
This cute coffee shop is just over the bridge, student budget friendly, and serves great coffee. They even have books you can borrow if that essay is really dragging.

Coffee Depot gives you a chance to feel good about supporting local businesses and enjoy a little peace away from campus.
4. 200 Degrees
I love the vibe of this coffee shop, it just screams student and it’s so much bigger than you think. It’s a great place to study and its central location makes it easy to pop into between lectures. (Just don’t go at lunch time, it will be packed).
They have a range of seating and the menu is amazing, not too pricey either. Lots of people sit in here with their laptops so you don’t have to feel alone.
5. Costa Coffee
You can’t go wrong with the classic. I would suggest going to the Odeon Costa on the Brayford for a study session, it’s a lot quieter and you can get an extra bean on the Costa app – as long as the Brayford isn’t flooded.
Don’t think about the fact that you are basically sitting in a cinema waiting room and try not to get distracted by the film trailers. That’s not what you are there for! You can get a great view of the train line too, so you can time your crossing to perfection – we all know that’ll never work.
With any of these spots, you can’t go wrong. You’ll ace your studies and enjoy some delicious drinks. It’s a win, win situation.
