So, who actually stole the necklace in A Man on the Inside? The ending explained
The thief was unexpected
A Man On The Inside is the top show on Netflix right now, a brilliant comedy about a man who goes on a secret mission in a retirement home.
Charles, a retired professor played by Ted Danson from The Good Place, gets a new lease on life when a private investigator hires him to go undercover.
His job is to find out who stole a missing necklace. So, who did actually take the jewellery?! Here’s the ending explained.
Who stole the necklace in A Man on the Inside?
The ending of the show was kind of anticlimactic. We expected there to be some crazy plot, but it was actually just Gladys who stole the necklace.
She is a former costume designer who is experiencing memory problems, so has been taking items from other residents without realising.
Gladys also took the watch, which went missing while Charles was undercover at the Pacific View retirement home.
The discovery emotionally takes Charles back to his final moments with his wife who had dementia, and he remembers her behaving out of character too.
Rather than being an undercover spy show as it first seems, A Man on the Inside is actually a warming story about suffering with dementia.
Who hasn’t been affected by [Alzheimer’s] at this point?” the show’s creator Mike Schur told Netflix’s Tudum.
“Even if it’s your friend’s grandmother or your great-uncle, everyone has been through some version of that. I hope that they see themselves in that story.”

Will there be a season two of the show?!
It looks like Charles wants to go back to teaching, but right at the end, he is given another mission by Julie.
She calls him and he replies “Whatever it is, I’m in,” setting up the show perfectly for a season two.
However, Netflix hasn’t confirmed whether another season is coming just yet.
“Check back with Tudum for future updates on A Man on the Inside, but for now, enjoy season one,” Schur said.
