Nathan breaks silence on MAFS UK split and reveals Lacey left him ‘heartbroken’

Nathan has broken his silence on his breakup with MAFS UK bride Lacey which left him “disappointed” and “heartbroken.”

It was reported the pair had split back in April after it ended up “fizzling” out between them despite them “trying” to make it work after leaving the show.

A source told The Sun: “Nathan and Lacey really tried to make their relationship work in the real world but it just fizzled after a while. The final vows were filmed in February and they were still going strong in April when the reunion was shot, but since then they have called it quits.

“They were both sad it didn’t work out, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be. It’s also a big blow for fans who were really invested in their relationship. They were widely viewed as the strongest couple of the series so the news that they are no longer an item is such a shame.”

But now Nathan has revealed how their split affected him, as well as confessing Lacey was the one who wanted to end things between them following MAFS UK.

He told Yahoo UK: “I have a lot of respect and care for Lacey. We both wanted different things. I went on the show to find love, and sometimes things don’t work out, but everything happens for a reason, and I’m so grateful for the time we shared together.

“Whilst I was hugely disappointed by the break up, and heartbroken, I respected her decision to part ways and I have nothing but love and good wishes for her.

“I wouldn’t have changed anything on the show, and despite what happened behind the scenes, I would still have chosen Lacey to be my bride, and I have nothing but respect and love for her.”

As for what he’s learned from his relationship with Lacey, Nathan explained: “I have learnt that I am deserving of somebody who loves me for me, and that I am enough as I am.

“That I don’t need to hide who I am, and I learnt a lot from the experts about how to work through relationships, friendships, and that if you are with the right person, they will stay, and work through everything with you.”

And it seems that he’s already eyeing up a return to reality TV, admitting he’d love to make an appearance on Celebs Go Dating or Celebrity SAS. Watch this space!
