Erm, MAFS NZ 2024 groom Michael Wilson is an ‘actor’ who’s already appeared on reality TV

What other secrets is he hiding beneath his beard?

During MAFS NZ (New Zealand) 2024 last night we were introduced to the new groom Michael Wilson, who tied the knot with Kara. And whilst he was pleased as punch to see her at the end of the aisle, let’s just say the feeling was less than mutual and Kara really wasn’t a fan of his beard.

Their honeymoon took a turn for the better and they seem to be getting on better, but could it all just be an elaborate show from Michael?

It turns out the MAFS NZ (New Zealand) 2024 groom is actually an “actor” according to IMDb and appeared in The Apprentice Aotearoa back in 2021, with Michael Wilson coming third overall on the business show.

36 year old Michael described himself on the show as “boisterous, extroverted and fearless” and explained that over the past two years, he’d been on a “soul searching journey” and hoped appearing on The Apprentice would “pave the way” for his next chapter.

Michael appeared in almost every episode and made it to the final three before ultimately being fired in week 11. And I won’t lie the transition from being on The Apprentice to appearing on MAFS NZ is quite a jump.

Especially when you take into consideration that his last relationship ended because his fear of commitment became “too great a barrier” because that sounds like exactly the type of person who should marry a total stranger.

As for what Michael did as a job whilst on The Apprentice, he specialised in being both an auctioneer as well as a breathwork coach. He explained more about the breathwork in an interview, saying: ” I am currently seven months into a nine month certification in a breathwork style called Rebirthing, which has been the deepest journey of my life in self healing. I am now coaching others and transforming them with it. It is a daily practice for me.”

Michael even spoke about the fact he could get famous off of appearing on The Apprentice, admitting: “We are all famous! But I guess this will make me a little more recognisable for a moment of time. My mantra to handle anything that comes up is: ‘It’s none of my business what anyone else thinks of me.”

I guess we’ll have to keep watching MAFS NZ (New Zealand) 2024 to see whether Michael Wilson is on the show for the right reasons or not.
