Nick from Love Is Blind denies calling Hannah a ‘grenade’ and shares what he really said

‘All the guys were like, she’s a little less attractive than we thought’

The Love Is Blind season seven reunion was one for the books, and arguments emerged that had never been mentioned on the show, including one between Nick and Hannah where he allegedly similarised her to a grenade. The exes were undeniably the main characters of the drama, and they spent most of the reunion arguing. Hannah had some pretty scathing things to say about Nick’s behaviour off-camera, and Nick barely got a chance to speak. He has since opened up about what Hannah said in an interview with Vulture, where he explained things from his side.

In the reunion, Hannah claimed Nick called her “ugly” and a “grenade” behind her back to the other guys, but Nick pressed that this wasn’t true: “I did get some heat. I felt like I was getting overwhelmed. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, and some people use that platform to tell their side of things and get the upper hand. That’s not me.”

He was bugged by the accusation that he’d called Hannah “ugly” and a “grenade.” He told Vulture that all the guys were discussing the girls on the bus to Mexico during the holidays part of the show, and he “somehow got thrown under the bus.”

What did Nick really say on the trip to Mexico?

Nick affirmed that he “never called Hannah a grenade” on their trip to Mexico. “I said I was a little underwhelmed, but we all were, right? It was a very stressful time. One thing I can say about it is, I never talked to Stephen once in Mexico, so I don’t know what he’s talking about. All the guys had said Hannah was a little less attractive than we thought. Not that she’s not a beautiful person,” he said.

“We weren’t calling any of the women ugly. I don’t think Hannah’s ugly. I would never tell the other guys, ‘yeah, she’s a grenade.’ That’s not me. We all had those conversations where it was like, ‘they’re pretty women, but not what we expected.’ That type of thing.”

Nick did admit to having an “off-camera” talk with Ramses that was “meant to be guy to guy.”

“He told me some stuff. I told him some stuff. It was never, like, throwing shade at Hannah. We were just being real. But I guess pillow talk’s a real thing, so then he might have said something to Marissa,” Nick explained.

He said the conversations evolved into a “telephone game” where “you get five people deep” and “the words change.” He told Hannah, “unless it came out of my mouth to you, unless I said something on-camera, you can’t really use that.”

Nick wasn’t going to air anyone else’s ‘dirty laundry’ at the reunion

Nick did say it was “kind of weird” that he was “getting some shade” from Hannah and Marissa when “Hannah was talking about my looks the entire show and how displeased she was.”

“I’m not going to air your dirty laundry just because you aired mine… I’m really pleased that people see how genuine and real I was with this whole process. But people could have taken accountability for their actions. I never brought her looks up once on camera. We had a connection, and we had a vibe, and unfortunately, she saw it a different way and handled things differently, and that’s probably why we didn’t work out,” he said.

It’s safe to say Nick and Hannah aren’t written in the stars.
