Devon and Cornwall Police made 11 arrests at Boardmasters Festival 2024, here’s why

A number of people were also treated by medical staff following a crush on Friday

Whilst it’s the likes of Leeds Fest and Creamfields which usually win titles as the most chaos festivals, Boardmasters 2024 ranked surprisingly high on the mayhem rating this year.

In an otherwise tranquil Cornwall, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that 11 arrests were made over the festival weekend, in relation to drug offences, sexual offences as well as assault.

Devon and Cornwall Police Superintendent Russell Dawe said: “Unfortunately, we did have an incident in the crowd on Friday 9th August which resulted in some people being injured.

“Most of these were treated by medical staff on site but seven were transferred to hospital from the event. All were discharged after treatment.

“We recognise how such events can cause concern for those involved, especially with those that received injuries, and so it will be our priority to ensure the incident will be considered as part of our planned debrief after the event.”
