Here is what cocktail you would be based on your Bournemouth halls

From Belaton House to Talbot Village, this is what cocktail you’d be based on your BU accommodation!

Cocktail season is finally upon us! I don’t know about you, but I have really made the most of it this summer. Along with my obsession – or as I like to call it, hobby – came a fun idea for an article: Ever wondered what Spoons cocktail you would be based on the halls that you are going to live in or have lived in? Well, you probably haven’t, but just for the s**** and gigs, here’s my verdict.

Purbeck House

Your accommodation has the classic uni hall feel. You don’t take yourselves too seriously and know how to party and have fun. Aperol Spritz is therefore the perfect cocktail – a classic and one that makes for a great time.

Lyme Regis House

Apologies for the lack of creativity, but you are definitely a lime daiquiri. In my defence, your accommodation does have a green theme…

Dorchester House

At Dorchester, you get the best of both worlds. Your accommodation maintains the typical halls feel, whilst also having extra perks like a gym. This makes your cocktail the classic mojito. A traditional drink of choice, but a classy one nonetheless.

Cranborne House

At Cranborne, you guys know how to get messy and have fun. Arguably you have too much fun. Your cocktail is a Bloody Mary. You are most likely quirky and not afraid of what others think about you. I applaud you! As the saying goes, be a unicorn in a field full of horses, or whatever it is…

Christchurch House

Being one of Bournemouth’s newest and most luxurious accommodations, you certainly enjoy the finer things in life. This makes your cocktail a martini. Martini’s are oh-so-sophisticated to have in hand, complimenting the general feel of your accommodation perfectly. As an ex-Bailey Point tenant, I have never been more jealous!

Bailey Point

Living in the go-to party accommodation, you are probably the definition of fun. This makes your cocktail a margarita. Don’t forget the important additions of a pineapple piece and a cocktail stick umbrella. The margarita’s sweet taste perfectly matches your bubbly aura.

Landsdowne Point

Much like Purbeck, your halls have a classic uni accommodation feel. Again, you guys don’t take yourselves seriously and know how to pre hard. Your cocktail is a Pimms. Its sweet and fruity taste will leave you forgetting that you’re even drinking alcohol, so please proceed with caution, and make sure that you don’t accidentally end up on Landsdowne Campus. I wonder if that has happened before…

Talbot Village

You are definitely not afraid to be your own person. You don’t mind the fact that you’re not living in the typical uni halls or student ‘house’. Also, props to you for only having to roll out of bed in the morning to get to lectures. Your cocktail is the espresso martini. This unique, strong-tasting drink perfectly matches your individuality and ability to not follow the crowd.

Belaton House

With a private gym, cinema room, pink study room and much more, you definitely take a liking to the finer things in life. You’re well organised and know exactly what you want. At the same time, you are not too serious. This makes your cocktail the humble gin and tonic. The G&T is sophisticated enough whilst also allowing for the best night out.

So, that’s part one of what cocktail you are based on your accommodation! Get drinking and enjoy the summer sun. FYI – the Mary Shelley does some great cocktails that won’t break the bank. Happy days!
