Liverpool is the third most Instagrammed city in the UK
Liverpool FC helped the city rack up a total of 5.6 million hashtags
The “Top 10 Most Instagrammed Cities in the United Kingdom and Europe” were recently presented by Holidu – a search engine for holiday lettings – as of August 2017. As part of the #Travelling with Hashtags study Liverpool was revealed to be on a roll.
Holidu looked at the number of hashtags for the Top 20 cities in the UK, as well as looking for some interesting additional hashtags for the Top 10 cities.
The student filled city of Liverpool has many beautiful spots including the docks, cathedrals, the red brick building, a number of parks and of course the beloved football club.

Liverpool FC brought the ranks up to third place, narrowly over Edinburgh, with 5.6 million hashtags. The hashtag #LiverpoolFC counted for 875,222 of the hashtags, whilst #anfield had 449,037 and #liverpoolfans counted for 41,257 of them.

London and Manchester beat Liverpool, with London taking first place in Europe followed by Paris and Barcelona. London took a grand total of 80 million hashtags whilst Manchester collected 7.7 million.
The most unique hashtag found to be popular was #birminghamhair used 31,941 times.
