Feminists are more likely to watch porn

Watching X-rated material could mean you believe in equality

If you watch porn you’re more likely to have feminist views and believe in equal rights, according to a new study.

Researchers discovered those who watched porn actually had more feminist views than those who didn’t.

The survey from the University of Western Ontario found people who had watched adult films in the last year were more likely to believe in equal opportunities.

What’s more, they believe girls should hold positions of power, work outside the home and opt for an abortion if they want to.

Porn might be for feminists after all

And both genders who took the survey agreed on these views – going against the stereotype of stereotypical boy who watches porn.

The survey took over 26 years from 1975 to 2001 and is widely believed to be “the single best source of data on societal trends” in the America.

And participants were 56 percent female, and 43 percent male.

Just over half of the people polled were married, the others were a combination of people who had never been married, widowed, or divorced.

Even those from a religious background held similar, equal viewpoints about women. Those surveyed were 85.12 percent “Protestant’ or ‘Catholic”.

Watching porn might mean you’re more of a feminist

Despite this, the survey found that watching porn was in no way more likely to make a person more of a feminist, but rather they believed in equality already.

Another study published in 2013 suggested that for some men porn reinforces and encourages sexist thinking – but only for a small subgroup.

For the rest of those surveyed, it had no impact on their view of women.

A similar study from 2009, found that in general, rape and sexual violence are not related to the amount of porn watched.

In our sex survey of just under 12,000 students, 79 per cent of girls confessed to watching porn compared to 99 per cent of boys.

Both genders revealed their favourite was guy on girl, with ladies preferring group to MILF.

In terms of subjects, Computer Scientists watched porn the most, with 12 per cent confessing to clicking on adult material two or more times every day.
