Tinder for dogs exists and it’s supposed to help you find love

It’s called ‘Tindog’

Once you’ve exhausted your free charms on Happn and realised Tinder is boring and full of weirdos, online dating can seem bleak.

But “Tindog”, a new app aimed to help you find a date through your pet, could help rekindle your love life for both you and your four-legged friend.

Launched last month, Tindog lets you create a profile for your dog complete with photos, name, age and bio, which other users can swipe right on if they decide your pet might be the one.

Like Tinder, the free app shows eligible dogs in your area and boasts “You will be able to spend millions of hours talking about your buddy!”

While you also create your own profile, your face is a lot less important and only appears as a tiny thumbnail in the corner of your dog’s profile pic.

And the appeal of Tindog seems to be the universally high quality of dogs available on the app. While it’s fairly easy to swipe left on human creeps, it’s impossible to reject a dog, which means on Tindog everyone is presumably a little bit more loose.

Once you’ve “matched” your dog with a potential dog-walking buddy, you can then chat with their owner about their little Dobbys, Brians and Chucks and arrange to meet up for friendship or more.

In a press release Tindog founder, CEO and presumably dog lover Julien Muller said: “Dogs bring so much joy and love, that they really have the power to connect us. That’s why we wanted to make it easy for dog lovers to meet new people around them who feel the same way.

“Whether it’s building new friendships or even making a love connection, Tindog is a great way to expand your social circle with others who love man’s best friend just as much as you do.”
