Eat clean train dirty: Meet Brookes’ fittest blogger
While you order Domino’s she’s doing dips
While the end of year pressures has seen most of us confined to the realms of JHB, Publishing second year Hollie Robinson is busy working full time, commuting to Oxford for University and building a brand through her successful health and fitness blog.
Feel bad yet?

Hollie began “clean eating” and working out regularly after she was diagnosed with Urticaria, a condition with an unknown cause that affects the skin, causing hives and welts.
She said: “I thought if I started making all my food from scratch and started working out more all the rashes would go – and they have.
“Now I know exactly what I’m putting in my body.”

Her online blog, Lipsticks and Lunges, was created to share healthy recipes and workout tips.

The second year says: “It’s a really good way to market yourself. I get to put information I know out there so that everyone can hear it while at the same time building a brand so that eventually I can get my own health and fitness products.”

Being successful in the world of blogging has its perks. Hollie has been sent free gifts from different companies including water bottles, trainers and clothes.
She says: “One of the best things I’ve been given is a free membership worth £15,000 to a state of the art gym.”

Making time for assignments, a full time job in PR and a successful blog isn’t easy.
Hollie explains: “By the time I’ve got home from Oxford it’s usually dinner time so trying to fit everything in with the gym and cooking meals from scratch as well is crazy I never feel like I have enough hours in the day.”

Hollie is currently in the running to get funding for her own fitness app which she hopes will help people to get fit and healthy.
“I get messages quite a lot now from my blog from people asking me to make fitness plans and at the moment I just don’t really have the time so I thought if I had an app that I can update constantly people can have access to workouts from famous fitness people around the world then I can help everyone.”

But don’t feel bad, living off red bull and Colonnade meal deals is fine too.
