A Night of Mediumship

The Tab turns spiritual with Tony Stockwell

On the 29th October Charles and I were given a special Halloween mission by The Tab to attend a Mediumship with Tony Stockwell; a creepy 2 hour long event called A Night to Remember Your Loved Ones. Both of us were pretty sceptical about talking to the spirits in a room of heaving people…

Tony came on stage wearing a waistcoat and bearing a cheesy grin, not unlike Gilderoy Lockhart (not a promising start), and without introduction said “nothing more to say really except, good luck!”

The ‘magic’ begun as he described a young man who had died near a hill, his death disrupting some sort of celebration. A woman stood up and said she knew the spirit to be her son. Tony carried on with a vague description and a heartfelt message making the woman cry. Ever cynical we were yet to be convinced.

Whilst the majority of spirit messages Tony conveyed were sentimental, there were also some wild cards thrown into the mix. One particularly weird reading involved a spirit who felt it necessary to express her dislike of Cliff Richards and another felt it pertinent to reveal the location of some money hidden in a pair of tights. Another revealed her love for cheese and onion crisps. Spooky indeed!

There were clearly believers in the audience and it was hard not to get carried away with it all. Tony clearly had a knack for combining to supernatural with stand up entertainment.
