Howay the Shags

Time to branch out into sex tourism?

You Gov recently decided to take a look at the kinkier side of life with a survey on sex habits in the UK. You’ll be glad to know that coming to Uni in Newcastle was the right choice. The North East came out top in most of the more risqué categories.

The North East is the most likely place for a one night stand and 52% of adults admit to having one, (thanks trebles). This was way ahead of second place, Wales, where it’s only 44%.

Sex outdoors was another winner for the North, with 51% saying they’d romped al fresco. While London trailed behind in second with 37%.

47% enjoyed using toys to spice things up, 68% admitted to watching porn and 19% to making their own or taking saucy photos.

One area we don’t excel at is cheating (hurrah!) East England and Scotland drew for that title with around a third admitting to cheating. The North East came joint third with Yorkshire and Humberside. Northern Ireland residents were the most faithful with only 18% admitting cheating.

We should all take a moment to feel sorry for the poor Midlanders though, they trailed in many of the categories.
1 in 10 in Wales have taken Viagra at some point and watch out for the South East! 1 in every 10 has an STD.

The article produced some excellent hypothesis as to why it’s better oop North:
“Must be all that Nuclear Brown Ale and deep fried Mars Bar & chips they consume on a “Neet oot doon toon…!! A Geordie Man needs a bit of fat in his diet to stiffen things up a bit.”

Shag juice?

An analysis of linguistic issues:
“Yeh! And if I could bloody understand them, I’m sure they would be a lot more fun!”

And some downright rudeness:
“And they’ve got an army of single mothers to prove it.”

Have you seen the wild side of Newcastle or have they just been asking the wrong people?
