Rutgers student charged with assault after throwing drink at Taco Bell employee

The 18-year-old was identified after a public appeal

Police have charged 18-year-old Cole Cadigan with simple assault after he threw his drink at a Taco Bell employee.

The Rutgers student was identified as the man who threw his drink in the face of the female employee after purchasing food last week.

According to Police, Cadigan “threw his large drink” in the employee’s face at a Taco Bell in Milltown at around 11.45pm on March 3, before he “quickly drove off laughing”.

The 18-year-old was identified partly through security footage which showed a Rutgers university parking tag visible in the windshield of his Ford F-150 truck.

In a statement released with a photograph from the security tape, Milltown police appealed to the public: “Please help us in identifying the coward who disrespected and hurt this young woman.”

Cadigan was identified on Wednesday, just one day after the public plea was made.
