There was a huge ‘Not My President’ rally at UIUC today

At least 200 people were there

Students gathered today to protest the election of Donald Trump as president.

Students at UIUC met at Alma Mater, and marched through the main quad.

The protest, which was organised by the Mexican Students Association at UIUC.

On the Facebook event, the students wrote:

“Come together to support marginalized communities that have been systematically and institutionally oppressed – and those that have been targeted by the Presidential election.

“In the wake of the Presidential Election, we want to come together in solidarity against xenophobia, white supremacy, misogyny, racism, homophobia, violence, transphobia, and overall acts of oppression.”

What is thought to be about 200 students congregated to express their unhappiness with the president elect.

There have been protests up and down the country as young people protest a candidate incredibly unpopular with young people.
