What happens in Lisbon, stays in Lisbon

Why everyone should visit this underrated city

Each summer I try to visit a new place with my friends or family. This year I decided to go to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal with my friends from high school. The timing of our trip could not have been more perfect because there have been festivities since I arrived a few days ago. And yes, I am currently writing to you from Lisbon.

The streets around me are filled with people dancing to live music; they are drinking mojitos and caipirinhas; they are eating grilled sardines and other local meats.

The atmosphere is electric – unlike any other city I have visited before and I’ve been to many! I think this is definitely the most underrated city in Europe, and its wonderful because I am just watching it all unravel before me. You don’t have to have much planned. You will stumble upon the most beautiful areas, and wonder how you could have possibly lived your life previously without witnessing this level of greatness.

And if this isn’t to your liking. You have the rich history to explore. There is literally a museum for everything. I’m pretty sure I saw a National Museum of Coaches. I forgot to mention that the night life is epic. What happens in Lisbon, stays in Lisbon though. My friends and I went to a gorgeous lounge and bar on the beach front our second night here called Urban Beach.

Traveling reminds me that I am small. I am, but a speck of dust on this entire Earth. And there is so much of the world for me to discover.

Currently enjoying the sound of a Portuguese drum troupe from the comfort of my bed, and I’m too excited to go to sleep. This is what life should always feel like.
