A Reclaim the Night march is taking place this Saturday in Nottingham city centre

The marches are a part of a wider movement fighting for the right for every women to live their lives free from violence


Women are taking to the streets this Saturday in Nottingham city centre, protesting to end violence and harassment against women as part of Reclaim the Night.

People are set to gather outside Blend Caffé in Sneiton Market from 6pm, to then begin their march through the city centre where they will stomp, drum, dance and shout.

Local Iranian women will be joining the march as it passes through Old Market Square, after their own demonstration with the newly formed organisation Freedom for Iran.

There will also be a rally at Sneiton Market after the march, with speakers such as Nadia Whittome the MP for Nottingham East and Rose Khoshirat the founder for Freedom for Iran. It will be followed by an afterparty at Nonsuch Studios with stand-up comedy and a DJ.
