Here is the absolute worst advice the MAFS UK experts have given couples over the years
I’m no expert but I don’t think comparing your bride to your sister is a good thing
The MAFS UK experts usually get it right every time, and offer the best advice to the newly wed couples, especially in the commitment ceremonies episodes in which we get down into the nitty gritty of what seems to be the problems in their marriages. However, sometimes the experts have some pretty unconventional advice that most of the audience feel strongly against. Over the many years of MAFS UK, here’s the absolute worst advice the MAFS UK experts have offered our terrified newlyweds.
Pairing Duka with Whitney
MAFS UK fans were actually furious at the experts for pairing Duka with Whitney, and from the debut episode of the season, claiming that Whitney “treated him like s**t the entire time.”
Whitney how can you expect Duka to stick up for you in front of everyone when you’ve treated him like shit the entire time #MAFSUK

It’s clear the two were not a compatible couple, and given that the experts pair everyone up, what on earth were they thinking?!
Charlene thinking it’s great that Caspar thinks Emma is similar to his sister
One of the main problems for MAFS UK 2024 star Caspar has been that his wife Emma reminds him too much of his sister. He actually told Emma: “Watching you and her laugh together, there’s an element and sort of mannerisms – I’m equating one with the other and it’s not good.”

However, the MAFS UK expert Charlene thought that the similarities might actually be a good thing. She told The Sun: “I think for so many other people that your new partner really getting on with your family and connecting with your family could be great, almost like ‘the universe has sent me a wife.'” There’s getting on, and then there’s getting a bit too close for comfort. I have to say I don’t agree with Charlene on this one.
Paul C didn’t call out Peggy’s behaviour
A lot of people were really upset last year when Paul didn’t call out Peggy’s behaviour towards Georges on the show. At the time, She said that he “needed to change” and that he knew “he was the problem” which viewers really didn’t agree with.
Paul actually stepped in on Twitter to defend his decision here. He replied to a tweet where a viewer criticised him for not “calling her out” on her behaviour towards Georges, saying “it’s important to understand that the couples sit on the couch for up to 60 minutes. You only see about six (or less). We give extensive advice. So, just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.” He really set the record straight with this one!

They didn’t let Bob speak when finding out about Megan and Jordan’s kiss
This entire season of MAFS UK was genuinely insane, but one of the biggest revelations was finding out that Megan and Jordan had shared a kiss at the dinner party, and Megan got to share her side of the story and apologise to her husband, Bob. Bob was genuinely distraught by the news but he was basically silenced by Paul who let Megan and Jordan explain the situation. The experts definitely should have given him an opportunity to let his emotions out in my opinion.
The experts telling Shona to work on her relationship with Brad after the experiment when he’d just been kicked off the show for his treatment towards her
Paul had some strange advice for what seemed to be a very toxic couple, Shona and Brad. Basically, the experts encouraged the pair to work on their relationship, but eventually Brad would be removed from the show due to his treatment of Shona. Surely if you’re a relationship expert you could read these signs quicker than the viewers could.
Thankfully, this advice was overturned and later on, Paul showed the couple some tough love: “This is not a healthy relationship, and I know you know this, but this is not working. It’s just not.
“We can see you’ve developed strong feelings for each other but right now this is not an environment where your relationship can flourish. On that basis, we believe it’s in your best interest that you exit the process now.”
