Kyle Cooke ‘caught off guard’ after being utterly ‘blindsided’ by Amanda and West’s romance

Sources claimed to TMZ that Kyle was completely in the dark about Amanda and West up to as recently as this weekend, just before they dropped their bombshell statement.

Apparently he directly approached Amanda and West about their dynamic multiple times, but they “shut it down” and “denied” that anything was going on between them.

And now insiders have told Us Weekly that Kyle Cooke has been utterly “blindsided” about the news surrounding Amanda and West, and is struggling with the new Summer House romance.

A source claimed: “Kyle always knew Amanda would eventually move on, but he never imagined it would be with a castmate or anyone within their own circle. The idea of her dating a castmate is something he’s really struggled to wrap his head around.”

Apparently Kyle “was genuinely blindsided by the news and completely caught off guard” by Kyle and Amanda’s announcement, “especially given how close the group is.”

The insider continued: “It’s not just the relationship itself that surprised him, but who it’s with, which has made it even harder for him to process. He is definitely upset by the news but also knows it takes a bit of heat off him and their marriage dynamic.”

Amanda and Kyle broke their silence about their rumoured romance on Monday with a joint statement.

They wrote: “We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity.

“It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”

The statement continued: “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.

“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
