Just when you thought it couldn’t, things have got worse again between Milton and Lydia
This is set to be the messiest divorce in Love Is Blind history
Oh dear, it seems like things are getting worse and worse by the week for former Love Is Blind couple Lydia and Milton as they start their divorce proceedings.
Things have got very messy very quickly between the two, and there’s been yet another development, so let’s have a look at everything that’s happened so far and what’s new between them.
Lydia first announced their split three months ago, and revealed the pair haven’t spoken since March
Three months ago Lydia announced that she and Milton, who met on season five of Love Is Blind, were getting a divorce.
Lydia first announced their split back in June during an appearance on the Reality Receipts podcast with AD Smith, saying the past three years of their marriage had been “tumultuous.”
She explained: “I’ve been quiet for too long but now I’m ready, but I wasn’t ready for people’s opinions. Now, I’ve decided to file for divorce against Milton. It wasn’t one thing, it was a layer of situations that just kept piling up.”
Lydia revealed that Milton was unaware of her appearing on the podcast, and was “worried about the public perception who idolised them.”
She said: “This isn’t to have a pity party, I still love him unfortunately. But that’s me, and I’m not going to apologise for loving this hard.”
Lydia also revealed that she and Milton hadn’t spoken since March and the relationship between the former Love Is Blind co-stars was “non-existent.”
Milton then responded to her divorce petition, and claimed Lydia was ‘guilty of cruel treatment’ towards him
Milton then responded to her divorce petition, with Us Weekly exclusively revealing that he’s accusing her of “cruel treatment” against him.
He responded to her divorce petition on Friday 26th September, and requested for her petition to be dismissed, alongside filing his own counterclaim against her.
Milton claimed that Lydia was “guilty of cruel treatment” toward him of a “nature that renders further living together insupportable” following their wedding on Love Is Blind.
His lawyer added: “The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between [Milton] and [Lydia] that destroys the legitimate end of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”
Milton also requested that his legal fees for the divorce proceedings be pair for by Lydia.
Lydia publicly filed for divorce on June 10th, and on September 18th she asked the court for a default judgement as Milton was not responding to her case, despite him being served with the documents on June 18th. He then filed his answer to the divorce days later.
Lydia then filed another divorce petition and requested to bar Milton from entering their home
On Tuesday, September 30th, Lydia filed another amended petition with various new demands for her divorce from Milton following Love Is Blind.
In her filing she requested a court order to prohibit Milton from contacting her “in vulgar, obscene or indecent language or in a coarse or offensive manner.”
She also requested that Milton be retrained from threating her, including placing “one or more telephone calls, anonymously, at any unreasonable hour, in an offensive and repetitive manner, or without a legitimate purpose of communications.”
She also requested a court order to prohibit Milton from using any passwords or personal information in order to gain access to her email, social media accounts, or any other accounts.
She also wanted exclusive use of their home in Texas whilst their divorce is pending and wants Milton to be barred from entering the property.
Lydia also claimed that Milton should cover all her legal fees as she has “insufficient income for support” following her time on Love Is Blind.
