Kendall Jenner’s ex reveals the real reason he skipped the US on his world tour
It was a complete no-go zone
So, Kendall Jenner‘s ex, Bad Bunny, made it crystal clear he was skipping certain places on his world tour. Now, he isn’t holding back. In a new interview, he finally explained why he left the United States off his world tour, and it wasn’t about snubbing fans. The reggaeton superstar admitted there was actually a controversial reason that deterred him from performing there. He chose to base himself in Puerto Rico, where people could still travel to see him without the risks he was worried about.
Why Bad Bunny left the US off his tour
People were super shocked when Bad Bunny’s tour dates didn’t include a single US stop. After all, he’s sold out stadiums across the country before and has a massive fanbase stateside. But according to the superstar, this decision wasn’t about snubbing fans or chasing bigger venues elsewhere. Instead, he says it came down to a mix of politics, safety, and the bigger picture of how Latinos are treated in the US.
In an interview with i-D Magazine, he was asked: “You said you wouldn’t be giving any concerts in the United States. Was this out of concern about [the mass deportations of] Latinos in the United States?”
Bad Bunny responded: “Man, honestly, yes. There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate, I’ve performed there many times. All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent. I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the US. But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the US…
“People from the US could come here to see the show. Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world. But there was the issue of, like, f***ing ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
Puerto Rico became his stage
Instead of performing in the US, Bad Bunny chose to hold a residency in Puerto Rico, something that felt more intentional than ever. He explained that people from the mainland could still travel to the island, while also supporting local culture at home.
But underneath the logistics was a deeper worry: the possibility of ICE crackdowns and the hostile climate facing Latinos. By performing in Puerto Rico, he created a safer space for both himself and his audience to connect without fear.
His tour will also see him travelling around the globe to countless other countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Germany, Australia, Brazil, and Belgium.
