Scheana Shay shares the real reason she hid her husband’s cheating from Ariana Madix
She didn't mention it when Tom had a seven-month affair?!
Ariana Madix was unaware that her friend Scheana Shay’s husband, Brock Davies, allegedly cheated on her in the past. She’s now come out to claim he was unfaithful while she was pregnant with their daughter, but didn’t think to tell Ariana on Vanderpump Rules.
She’s now explained why she never thought to say anything when Ariana’s then-boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, had a seven-month affair with Rachel Leviss. It was the biggest scandal possibly on the entirety of reality TV ever, yet she stayed silent.
Scheana even slammed Ariana for filming with Tom at the time, after he cheated on her. Now, she says she almost told Ariana two months after Brock confessed his alleged infidelity to her, which is said to have happened back in 2023.
“It was on the tip of my tongue,” Shay tells Us Weekly. “I didn’t want to trauma dump on her when she had her own trauma. I felt like if I told friends or [even] my mom, that they may persuade me to leave because ‘once a cheater, always a cheater.’”
She added, “I didn’t want to do what others would tell me to do. I wanted to really figure that out for myself and for Summer [their now-four-year-old daughter]. I wasn’t ready to tell that story. I don’t think our marriage would’ve survived if I did.”
Scheana explained how she “wasn’t even protecting Brock in those moments” but was instead thinking about their daughter’s welfare. Despite not saying a word, she admits in her book how she was upset Ariana didn’t pick up on anything being wrong.
“She didn’t ask, ‘Is there something bothering you? Is everything OK?’… Of course, I wish she would’ve noticed, but I also think I was extremely good at hiding it,” she explained, saying she felt she was good at being there for Ariana. “And that is not her fault.”
Scheana recalled how she asked Brock if he wanted to read what she wrote about his infidelity before she had to submit it. “He said, ‘No, this is your story to tell. I don’t want to steer you one way or the other. Say whatever you want to say, it’s your book,'” she told People.
He also wrote on Instagram after the news came out: “I’m not perfect, but I’m proud of the man I’ve become. I’ve failed, I’ve won, I’ve started over more times than I ca count. And every time, I keep putting one foot in front of the other.”
