Trump supporters to far-right views: All the controversy surrounding Love Island USA contestants
One girl was booted off after an offensive video went round
There was a load of controversy surrounding the Love Island USA season seven cast, which all started with Yulissa getting booted off after an offensive video went viral. Basically, it was super messy in the recent season, especially when it came to political views.
Yulissa was removed from Love Island USA
Yulissa Escobar was removed from the Love Island USA villa within just a couple of days of being in there. A podcast clip showed her using the n-word three times. She is seen saying, “Are you that n**** that controls what she wears?” and that wasn’t the only time.
She is also heard saying, “I’m not perfect, now I’m f***ing my n****, he’s my n*****.” Yulissa is wearing the same red hat she wears in the video in a recent photo on her Instagram, which has led to people suggesting the podcast was filmed not that long before the series.
Austin reposted controversial videos
People noticed that Austin was resharing really political views and appearing to support Donald Trump, including someone wearing a MAGA hat. There’s a video everyone is mad about, that shows a Black man “destroying a Black woman who said she’s voting for Kamala”.
A video reposted by a TikTok account allegedly run by Austin said: “Anybody bringing up Project 2025, not Agenda47, is seeking a reason to argue and be combative. Black people, please stop falling for the same trick time and time again by liberals and the democrat party.”
He has since apologised since the season ended.
Islander Charlie follows far-right activists
Charlie from Love Island USA was wrongly getting slammed for being a Donald Trump supporter, but there is no evidence of him following the president on social media. Some people claim the person managing his account unfollowed Trump after he entered the villa.
He was, however, following Tommy Robinson on Twitter while in the villa, an activist and journalist known for his far right views. His profile also follows Eva Vlaardingerbroek, a far-right commentator and lawyer, as well as Nioh Berg, who describes herself as “anti woke”.
Charlie was also slammed for wearing his hair in braids, which was described by some as cultural appropriation. But when it comes to him allegedly supporting Trump, his brother has spoken out to say the speculation simply isn’t true.
Andrea from season six is getting backlash
Um, Andrea Carmona from Love Island USA, who has just finished up her time competing on Love Island Games, is getting seriously ripped apart. It’s all because her X profile appears to have shared a quote about Donald Trump back in 2019, which is pretty controversial.
Basically, the post said, “Sometimes one must lose, in order to win. – Donald Trump,” which meant it was shared before she even got famous on Love Island USA. And now, years on, people are only just discovering the resurfaced post, and are not happy at all.
She’s only just gotten her phone back after leaving Love Island Games, and has taken to her Instagram Stories to thank everyone for their support while she was on the show. Her public party affiliation is the Republican Party of Florida.
