Revealed: The six very strict rules Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have to follow at all costs
The consequences for breaking one can be severe
It turns out that if you’re on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad that are some very strict rules you have to follow at all times, and if you don’t the consequences can be bad news.
So, let’s have a look at all the different rules they have to follow!
6. Attendance of every rehearsal is mandatory

You might think that with the majority of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders having full time jobs that sometimes they’d be allowed to skip just one rehearsal but the rules are very strict on this one.
So much so, that on the DCC website it states in all caps no less: “CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT FEEL THEY CAN ATTEND ALL REHEARSALS SHOULD NOT CONTEMPLATE BEING A DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADER.”
Well, that gets the message across pretty effectively…
5. Cheerleaders are expected to look ‘well proportioned in dancewear’ at all times
Whilst there are no more weight requirements for Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, the DCC website states that they’re expected to look “well-proportioned in dancewear.”
4. Their hair must be worn down during all rehearsals and performances

I cannot imagine anything worse than doing an over ten minute intense cheerleading routine with my hair in my face, but for the Dallas Cheerleaders that simply isn’t an option.
Kelli Finglass told People in 2016: “Now it’s about the girls being as glamorous as they can. They all wear their hair down — even in rehearsal.”
3. Makeup must be neutral with red lips or nails completely prohibited
Cheerleaders’ makeup should be neutral and natural at all times, with a focus on “shades that complement your natural beauty.”
2. Those in the squad are required to return their uniforms

You might be thinking that the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders would be able to keep their uniforms as a nice keepsake memento but you’d be sorely mistaken.
All uniforms have to be returned by the end of the end of the season as leadership “didn’t want it in the wrong hands.”
1. Cheerleaders are banned from dating Cowboys players, coaches, staff or journalists

Cheerleaders aren’t allowed to fraternize with them, with retired TV sports reporter Dale Hansen, claiming: “Cowboys cheerleaders were off limits, and I think that only added to the aura of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, which separated them from a lot of other cheerleader groups around the country.”
