All the juiciest behind the scenes production secrets you never knew about Love Island USA
Some of these were definitely meant to be kept under wraps
There are a ton of juicy behind the scenes production secrets that you might have never known about Love Island USA, and we’re here to spill them!
So, from phone rules to having chaperones during meals, let’s delve into all the secrets that production doesn’t want you to know about Love Island USA!
Their phones have different times and dates on them

According to one Love Island USA alumni, all of the phones that the islanders have on them to announce texts deliberately have the wrong information on them.
Alex explained: “We do not know the date or time. All the phones have different dates and times on them.”
A special wine cupboard exists in the Love Island USA villa
Yep, apparently it all comes from a “magic cupboard” where a glass of wine will seemingly magically appear, with producers telling the Love Island USA cast when they are allowed to go and receive a glass.
Most of the scenes aren’t actually recorded by cameramen?!

You might be envisioning the islanders being constantly followed by a posse of camera crew, but as it turns out most of the scenes are filmed by cameras that have been hidden and hung up around the villa to make islanders notice them less.
However, the cameramen do come out to physically film during the iconic dance scenes and for one to one dates.
Female and male islanders aren’t allowed to eat together

Whilst islanders are only required to make themselves breakfast with “lunch and dinner being catered”, they have to be chaperoned at all times for meals.
Alex revealed that male and female islanders have to eat separately and a chaperone is present at all times “because they don’t want the plotline to go any further, and they won’t film us eating because it’s not attractive.”
