Kanye West was ordered to pay Kim Kardashian a huge amount for child support payments, despite her being insanely rich herself. They share four kids together, but finalized their divorce in November 2022, when he started having to send the payments. It’s only just become public knowledge, but the insane amount is honestly crazy.
How much does Kanye West pay for child support?
Kanye West pays his ex-wife Kim $200,000 per month in child support payments. The hefty amount was part of their divorce settlement at the end of 2022, which makes history as the highest child support payment ever, which also involved Kim and Kanye having joint custody after she first filed for divorce in 2021.
They were married for eight years, but by March 2022, they were both declared single and moved on to new partners, who they’ve both since split from. The documents state that they should consult with each other on major decisions about their children’s welfare, while expenses for the kids’ security, school and college are shared.
However, there’s an important reason for why Kanye has to pay so much, aside from being wealthy, and it’s because their kids spent most of their time with Kim. She’s previously spoken out about how she often feels like a single mother, but that the public think she’s barely at home and relies on a nanny because of how many business commitments she has.
Kim said she ‘very much’ wanted their marriage to end
Kim and Kanye’s divorce settlement involved her saying she “very much” wanted the marriage to be done. She also wrote that this would “help Kanye to accept” that the relationship was over, as he’d previously tried to stop her from ending things between them. It happened just after loads of brands dropped him due to his anti-Semitic comments, such as Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga.
More recently, she’s reportedly got a “lawyer on speed dial” because of Kanye, People reports. An insider told them that Kim “can’t stand when he acts irrational” and just wants him to be able to spend time with their kids in a safe way, especially because their eldest, North West, asks to see him more often.
