Hilaria Baldwin has been hit with criticism over the viral moment she shut her husband Alec Baldwin down in an interview. She’s no stranger to backlash, such as when people thought she was faking her Spanish accent despite being from America. However, an interview saw her tell Alec he’s “distracting” her and basically, it doesn’t look great.

Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, was talking to Extra at the Planet Hollywood reopening last week alongside her husband, when she was asked if there would be a second season of their TLC reality show. As Hilaria went to respond, Alec jumped in with: “The Hilaria Show.” She then added: “No, I think we are going to see, you know, we’re going to see how it feels to be out there.”
He then interrupted again, but it was really cute because he said, “It’s gonna be great. You’re a winner.” However, it did not land well with his wife, who said, “Oh my God. When I’m talking, you’re not talking.” He then apologised, before Hilaria threw her hands up and repeated: “When I’m talking, you’re not talking.”
She turned back to face the interviewer and joked: “This is why we’ll just have to cut him out of the show.” The interaction has not pleased anyone on social media, who have called Hilaria “rude,” while describing their marriage as “a very uncomfortable dynamic.” Some even went as far as to say it was a “hard watch”.
The real reason she mocked him in public
Alec and Hilaria have a “fireworks” marriage and essentially, that viral moment was “nothing more than banter.” Insiders told the Daily Mail that the humiliating interaction has been completely blown out of proportion, and didn’t happen because of a dark reason, despite the analysis from anyone who watched the footage.
“That was a true reflection of their relationship,” the insider told Daily Mail. “They test each other. It may have looked concerning to some, but it was all playful banter. There is no harm. They both have strong personalities and that’s why they’re attracted to one another. Alec finds Hilaria captivating and he loves that she can take his humor because Alec is never reserved in anything he does and vice versa.”
Apparently, they “love challenging each other,” with the source saying, “Don’t get it twisted, there are always fireworks between them, it is what makes them tick. They love challenging one another.” Even Alec and Hilaria have weighed in on their conversation, with him saying he suffers from “correctile dysfunction,” while she accused him of “manterrupting”.
