Sons of Anarchy ended more than a decade ago, but a new spinoff, Legends, has now been confirmed, so here’s where the cast are now and what they’ve been up to.

FX has confirmed Legends, a new limited meta-thriller created, written and executive produced by Charlie Hunnam, who will also star. And loads of the original cast are returning, although they won’t be playing the characters people remember. Instead, they will play fictionalised versions of themselves. Basically, it’s a Sons of Anarchy reunion where the actors are the characters.

Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi have been confirmed for the spinoff. The story follows the cast reuniting at a fan convention more than 10 years after Sons of Anarchy finished. Then things take a very strange turn, as the line between their old TV lives and reality starts to blur and they face a real-world threat.

So, what have the Sons of Anarchy cast actually been doing since the show ended? Here’s where the main cast are now.

Charlie Hunnam as Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller

Charlie Hunnam is obviously the biggest part of this new reunion because Legends is his project. After Sons of Anarchy, Hunnam moved further into film, appearing in Crimson Peak, The Lost City of Z, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and The Gentlemen. He also reunited with Ron Perlman in Pacific Rim earlier in his career.

More recently, he played serial killer Ed Gein in Ryan Murphy’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story. He is also attached to the crime series Criminal, based on the Marvel comic book series.

Hunnam is also still in his long-term relationship with artist Morgana McNelis, whom he has been with since 2005.

Katey Sagal as Gemma Teller Morrow

Katey Sagal had already been famous before Sons of Anarchy, thanks to playing Peg Bundy on Married… with Children. But Gemma gave her another career-defining role, and she won a Golden Globe for the performance in 2011.

Since leaving Charming behind, she appeared in Shameless, Dead to Me and Tell Me Lies. And from 2018 to 2025, she played Louise on The Conners. She has also continued voicing Leela in Futurama and has had guest roles in shows including One Piece and Stumble.

Sagal is married to the show’s creator, Kurt Sutter. They married in 2004 and have a daughter, Esmé Louise Sutter, who was born in 2007.

Ron Perlman as Clarence ‘Clay’ Morrow

Ron Perlman has continued appearing in films and television, with recent credits including Don’t Look Up, Nightmare Alley, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Poker Face, The Capture, Mr & Mrs Smith and Cape Fear.

He also published his memoir, Easy Street (the Hard Way): A Memoir, in 2014.

Perlman was married to Opal Stone Perlman from 1981 until their separation in 2019. They have two children, Blake and Brandon. He later married actress Allison Dunbar in Italy in 2022.

Mark Boone Junior as Robert ‘Bobby Elvis’ Munson

Mark Boone Junior played Bobby Elvis, the club’s secretary and vice president. Since Sons of Anarchy finished, he has appeared in shows including The Last Man on Earth, Patriot, Paradise City and Hightown. His film work has included The Birth of a Nation, The Gateway, A Little White Lie and Busboys, which is listed among his 2026 credits.

Away from acting, Boone Junior married Christina Adshade in 2019. They welcomed a daughter in January 2020.

Kim Coates as Alexander ‘Tig’ Trager

Since playing Tig, Kim Coates has stayed particularly busy on television. He went on to appear in Bad Blood, Ghost Wars, Godless, White House Plumbers and American Primeval. He has also been part of The Walking Dead: Dead City.

On film, Coates returned as Ronnie Hortense in Goon: Last of the Enforcers and appeared in Officer Downe, Fantasy Island, Double Down South and Solo Mio. He even popped up in the Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans M.C. in 2022.

He is married to teacher Diana Chappell, and they have two daughters, Kyla and Brenna.

Maggie Siff as Dr Tara Knowles-Teller

Maggie Siff had already appeared in Mad Men before Sons of Anarchy, but Tara became one of her best-known roles. After the series ended, she went straight into another major TV drama, playing psychiatrist Wendy Rhoades on Billions.

Since Billions finished, Siff has taken on a smaller number of screen roles, including a guest appearance on Law & Order, and she has also worked in theatre, including Off-Broadway.

Siff married Paul Ratliff in 2012 and they had a daughter, Lucy. Ratliff died from brain cancer in 2021.

Ryan Hurst as Harry ‘Opie’ Winston

Ryan Hurst isn’t part of the announced Legends reunion, but Opie remains one of the characters most closely associated with Sons of Anarchy. Since the show, Hurst has built up a seriously long list of credits. He appeared in Bates Motel, Outsiders, Bosch, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Paradise City, The Mysterious Benedict Society and S.W.A.T. He is also in The Abandons.

Hurst also voiced Thor in the video game God of War Ragnarök, earning a BAFTA nomination.

He met his wife Molly Cookson in 1994 and they married in 2005.

Tommy Flanagan as Filip ‘Chibs’ Telford

Tommy Flanagan’s Scottish accent and scarred face made Chibs one of the most recognisable members of SAMCRO. He’s appeared in Westworld, Power Book IV: Force, MobLand and House of the Dragon, as well as Netflix’s The Perfect Couple with Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber.

His film credits include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Papillon and The Ballad of Lefty Brown. He also reunited with Russell Crowe for the 2024 crime thriller Sleeping Dogs.

Tommy Flanagan has been married to Dina Flanagan since 2010, and they have a daughter together.

Theo Rossi as Juan Carlos ‘Juice’ Ortiz

Theo Rossi went from playing Juice to starring as Hernan “Shades” Alvarez in Marvel’s Luke Cage. More recently, he appeared in The Penguin and True Story.

His film work includes Emily the Criminal, Vendetta, Carry-On, Salvation and The Saviors.

Rossi has also produced several films and made his directorial debut with Shell Game, which does not yet have a release date.

He married Meghan McDermott in 2014 and they have two sons, Kane and Arlo.

Jimmy Smits as Neron ‘Nero’ Padilla

Jimmy Smits was already a major television star before joining Sons of Anarchy, thanks to NYPD Blue and The West Wing, as well as his work in the Star Wars universe. After playing Nero, he continued appearing across television, with roles in The Get Down, 24: Legacy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, How to Get Away With Murder, Bluff City Law, Obi-Wan Kenobi and East New York.

On the big screen, he appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and In the Heights.

Smits shares two children, Taina and Joaquin, with his former wife Barbara Smits. He has been in a relationship with actress Wanda De Jesus since 1986.

Unlike the others, Smits isn’t among the cast announced for Legends so far.

Dayton Callie as Wayne Unser

Dayton Callie played Charming police chief Wayne Unser. He appeared in Archer, Fear the Walking Dead and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, as well as films including Abattoir and City of Lies.

Callie is also well known for playing Charlie Utter in Deadwood, a role he reprised in the 2019 HBO film Deadwood: The Movie.

He isn’t part of the announced Legends cast either.

Drea de Matteo as Wendy Case

Drea de Matteo was already hugely recognisable from The Sopranos when she joined Sons of Anarchy as Wendy Case, Jax’s ex-wife and the biological mother of Abel. Since then, she’s appeared in Shades of Blue, A Million Little Things, Paradise City and Power Book II: Ghost. Her more recent film credits include Safe Space and Nonnas.

She also launched the podcast Made Women in 2020 with Chris Kushner, discussing behind-the-scenes stories from The Sopranos.

In 2023, de Matteo joined OnlyFans and has since spoken openly about making that a significant part of her work.

She has two children, Alabama Gypsy Rose and Waylon Albert, with former partner Shooter Jennings.

She isn’t currently among the eight Sons of Anarchy actors announced for Legends.
