Sterling Point season one only dropped on Prime Video a week ago, but viewers are already desperate to know whether Annie, Ramona and the rest of the gang will be back for season two. The eight-episode first season ends with Annie staying in Sterling Point while Ramona heads to New York. And then there’s that whole bombshell about Connor potentially meeting their biological mum. Basically, the show has left us with more questions than answers. The good news is that creator Megan Park has already talked about what she would want to explore in Sterling Point season two. So, has Sterling Point been renewed for season two? Credit: Amazon Prime Video Not yet. As of the time of writing, Prime Video has not officially announced a second season of Sterling Point. The first season premiered on August 5, so it is still very early days for a renewal decision. But Megan Park has definitely not run out of story ideas. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she explained, “Season one, you do spend a lot of time setting up the world. And then I do almost feel like if you get a season two, it’s when you relax and go deeper.” So, what could happen in Sterling Point season two? Credit: Amazon Prime Video The biggest change would be Annie and Ramona living each other’s lives. At the end of season one, Annie stays in Sterling Point while Ramona heads to New York. Ella Rubin actually loved the ending, describing it as a “Parent Trap-esque ending” that felt “ambiguous, yet satisfying”. Park said that switch gives the potential second season plenty to work with. She explained, “Season one, you do spend a lot of time setting up the world. And then I do almost feel like if you get a season two, it’s when you relax and go deeper. Then there’s also the whole thing about when Ramona turns 18, what’s gonna happen with the property?” So, season two could basically give us a completely different version of both girls’ lives. Annie and Ellis could actually get some time together Credit: Amazon Prime Video Annie and Ellis finally get together before the finale, and Annie chooses to stay in Sterling Point. Ella Rubin wants season two to let them actually enjoy being together rather than immediately throwing another problem at them. “I do hope that Annie gets to have fun. And we see her go to this place of being able to enjoy yourself and lean into a crush and admit her feelings in a way that’s super uncomfortable for her,” Rubin told Swooon. She added, “I would love if they can like be really silly together. Also, Jacob as an actor is so funny, and I want people to see more of that.” She even suggested she would like to see them “do karaoke” and “get in the boat” and just enjoy being together. Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, meanwhile, has a very different idea. He joked that he wants Ellis to be “shattered” by Annie in season two. “I would love to get to play that and make his world harder a little bit. I mean, he didn’t have it easy, but…,” he said. There’s still loads to uncover about the family Credit: Amazon Prime Video Park also wants to spend more time with the adults, particularly Oona’s mum. “Specifically, who’s Oona’s mom?” Park said. “It would be so interesting to bring that character in.” There’s also unfinished business involving Joe and Steven, while Connor ends season one with a phone call about a possible meeting with his biological mum. “There’s a lot of mommy and daddy issues being threaded throughout the show,” Park said. “There’s a lot there.” And what about Ramona and Oona? Credit: Amazon Prime Video Ramona and Oona don’t get their happy ending in season one. The pair break up after Ramona decides to go to New York and spend time with her newly discovered family. Amélie Hoeferle thinks Ramona needs to focus on herself before jumping straight back into another relationship. “I think she just needs to work on her relationship with herself first before she’s ready for [a relationship],” she told Swooon. Bo Bragason, however, has a slightly more chaotic plan for Oona. She said she’d like to see Oona go through a “hot girl summer phase” before eventually getting Ramona and Oona back together. So, Megan Park has loads of ideas for Sterling Point season two, the cast wants to return to these characters, and season one left a lot unfinished. Now Prime Video just needs to make the call.
