You might feel you’ve seen enough Cassie to last a lifetime after Euphoria season three, but star Sydney Sweeney says there was one wild scene that didn’t make the cut – and she even went into training for it. It’s only been a couple of weeks since the Euphoria finale and already it feels like a distant fever dream. One of the biggest talking points of the HBO show’s third (and final) chapter was Cassie’s venture into OnlyFans. While Nate (Jacob Elordi) was off being beaten up and having his appendages chopped off by loan sharks, Cassie was busy sucking toes, pretending to be a giantess, and dressing up as an adult baby (*shivers*). In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Sweeney has unpacked her final days as Cassie, delving into scenes she filmed with Alamo star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, which didn’t make the final cut. After having a few too many tipples, she gets on stage and starts pole dancing. “There were some really fun scenes between us when Cassie goes to the strip club with Maddy and they’re doing the photoshoots,” Sweeney told the outlet. “Cassie starts to see the girls on stage and she gets really excited. She’s like, ‘Wow, these girls are beautiful. I could do this.’ She gets wasted and she goes up on the stage, she gets all dressed up and Cassie pole dances.” Sweeney even revealed that she took pole dancing lessons, saying it was “so much fun.” “Imagine crazy Cassie on a pole, which was hilarious,” she added. “But man, these girls are strong.” The interviewer noted how these scenes should be released as bonus footage, to which Sweeney replied, “Sam called me a couple days before the episode that the scenes were supposed to be in. He was like, ‘Hey, it didn’t make sense for the episode.’ “I was like, ‘Totally get it.’ I definitely was disappointed. But he was like, ‘Maybe we should release it as like behind-the-scenes footage or deleted scenes.’ I was like, ‘Please do, because I put a lot of hard work into that.’” Elsewhere in the interview, Sweeney defended Euphoria creator Sam Levinson over Cassie’s season three storyline. “From the very beginning, you can see that Cassie has this need to be loved. She has a need to be validated by other people. She doesn’t know how to love herself unless someone else loves her,” she said. “So I understand how Sam got her to where she was in season three. I think she was more excited by the idea of all these people loving her and knowing who she is and feeling like her world isn’t small.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
