Esther actor reveals whether Sasha should end up with her or Morgan in Nobody Wants This

The love triangle in Nobody Wants This gets even messier in season 3, and now Jackie Tohn, who plays Esther, has shared her thoughts on whether Sasha should end up with her or Morgan.

For much of the series, Sasha and Esther’s relationship has been complicated. They share a daughter and still have feelings for each other, but Esther’s decision to separate from Sasha pushes them both to figure out what they really want.

Meanwhile, Sasha starts exploring his long-standing connection with Morgan, the sister of his brother’s fiancée. And just when things seem complicated enough, Sasha and Esther spend a night together, making their situation even harder to work out.

Does Esther’s actor think Sasha should end up with her or Morgan?

Jackie Tohn has revealed that she believes Sasha should ultimately end up with Esther in Nobody Wants This. Speaking to TODAY.com, the actor admitted that she might be a little biased because she plays Esther. But she still feels that Sasha and Esther belong together.

“I think I have skin in the game. But in my brain, I think it’s Esther, I really do. I must think that because I’m her. I just feel like in my heart, Sasha and Esther go together,” she said.

According to Jackie, Sasha’s relationships with Esther and Morgan offer him two very different things. She explained, “With Esther, there’s obviously love there. There’s history. There’s stability. They have a daughter, and I do think Sasha and Esther love each other.” 

She also said, “Because he was a little bit gentler, he needed a fire lit under his ass, and that fire was Esther. I think a lot of people need that kind of partner that’s going to push them to be better, and Esther does all of that for him.” 

However, that does not mean Jackie thinks Sasha and Morgan have nothing between them.

Does Sasha have real feelings for Morgan?

Jackie acknowledged that Sasha and Morgan’s relationship could be more than just a friendship. “Completely different. From Morgan he gets (something) fun, wild,” she said when asked what Sasha gets from Morgan compared with Esther.

She also explained, “Morgan has always been this fun friend, but now maybe there is something more there. There is a depth there where they both are the sort of the ‘loser’ sibling, but they see something in each other.”

Season 3 is also a major turning point for Esther, who starts discovering who she is outside her marriage.

Jackie explained, “She gets a job for the first time since she’s had a kid. She gets her real estate license. She goes on the apps. And she tries to figure out, if she had asked herself all of these big life questions, (where) would she be? Would this be where she’d be? What would she want to do? Who would she want to be with? And maybe it is Sasha. It’s a huge, huge season of self-discovery and growth for her.” 

At the end of Season 3, Sasha’s growing connection with Morgan and his complicated history with Esther leave the future of both relationships uncertain. Esther is hurt by Sasha’s involvement with Morgan, but she had also encouraged him to explore life outside their marriage.

Jackie said, “Esther can be as upset as she wants, but she made her bed, right? She literally said to him, ‘I am going to go do this. You should too.’ So he did. And yeah, she’s hurt.” 

Still, when it comes to who Sasha should ultimately choose, Jackie thinks it should be Esther.
