Off Campus star Ella Bright *finally* addresses her huge age gap with Belmont Cameli

Although the spicy romance show Off Campus is a huge hit, some viewers are a bit perturbed by the actors’ actual ages. Although the lead couple, Hannah and Garrett, attend the same college, the actors are different ages in real life. Ella Bright was just 18 when she acted in this steamy show, and Belmont Cameli was 27. Ella Bright has finally addressed the controversial age gap between her and her Off Campus co-star.

So, Ella’s character Hannah is supposed to be 20 or 21. That’s three years older than Ella was when she filmed Off Campus. According to Ella, many viewers assumed she was 24 or 25. She finds it entertaining when viewers discover her real age. She said on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast: “It is really funny. I keep watching these videos like, ‘Off Campus cast ages’ and it’s very funny.”

Ella is not just a different age from her character, but from the rest of the cast. She is eight years, eight months and 30 days younger than Belmont Cameli, who plays Hannah’s love interest Garrett. Some viewers found it a bit jarring that they filmed so many intimate scenes together. However, Ella wasn’t so bothered.

She continued: “Listen, I came into this job and during the chemistry reads with more than enough information and knowledge and understanding of what this role required, and I just fell in love with Hannah and these scripts immediately. And there was never a question that I wouldn’t want to do this.

“And I get people’s concern, but also not once did I feel left out from being younger than everybody. We’re all such a family, and everyone was just more than perfect. And I couldn’t be more comfortable on this set with these people. So, it is funny when they say that. I’m like, ‘I’m good!'”

Ella clarified that she wasn’t uncomfortable filming some of them more, erm, explicit scenes in Off Campus. She explained: “All the Hannahs auditioning knew it was just going to be partial [nudity] and for Ally, it was going to be full [nudity]. So everyone had a full understanding of what we were going into.”

Ella Bright seems to be particularly unfazed by the age gap between her and Belmont Cameli. When asked abut the large age difference, she told Vanity Fair: “When we spend that much time together on set, it is very, very easy to just become so close. He’s one of my best friends.”
