Most of the characters in The Boys were pretty awful people, but if there’s one character who deserved the title of bestest boy, it’s definitely Butcher’s bulldog, Terror. Introduced in season one, Terror lived with Becca and Butcher when they were a happily married couple. The English bulldog was dumped with Butcher’s aunt once Becca vanished, and Butcher set out on his revenge tour. Butcher ultimately returned for Terror, and he’s popped up a few times since. What happened to Terror in The Boys show and comics? Credit: Amazon Studios Ahead of the finale, supposed leaks claimed that Homelander was going to viciously kill Terror to get at Butcher. The leaks came from somewhat reputable sources who had earlier predicted some major plot points like Frenchie’s death. We watched the series finale apprehensively waiting for that scene, but after Butcher successfully disposed of Homelander with his iconic crowbar, we thought Terror was safe. We were so, so wrong. Terror ultimately passed away in Butcher’s apartment, and it seemed to be the inciting moment behind Butcher’s choosing to commit genocide. The official The Boys wiki lists Terror’s death as natural causes, almost like the little pup was waiting for Butcher to complete his mission before passing. As for his death in the comics, it was much more graphic. Terror was also a bigger character in the source material, so he would often accompany Butcher on missions, putting him directly in harm’s way. Black Noir commits a revenge killing in response, snapping Terror’s neck and letting Jack take the blame. The resulting frame job pushes Butcher to the edge, and he tracks down Jack to violently kill him. By violently, I mean stabbing him so many times that his body splits in two. Butcher only says one thing during the murder, repeating over and over: “Why’d you kill me dog, Jack?” Beyond brutal, but I’m glad the show version of Terror got a slightly happier ending.
